Theology & Science for Church Leaders & Scholars with Chang In Sohn and Dr. Braden Molhoek
*attendance available in-person and virtually*
Recent breakthroughs in science and technology rapidly transform our understanding of the world but also raise profound questions for people of faith. As these developments continue, church leaders and scholars must engage with questions about our understanding of the key Christian doctrines, such as the doctrine of God, creation, human nature, free will, and the church’s role in the age of science. The course provides a comprehensive introduction to where theology and science meet. While exploring six modules that include physics & cosmology, chemistry, biology & anthropology, neuroscience, ecology, and artificial intelligence, students will be equipped with the skills that are necessary to 1) develop their own theological positions in the complex and intellectual discourses between science and theology, 2) apply scientific literacy into their professional work and ministry, and 3) provide informed guidance of where theology and science intersect to lay audiences and the communities where they belong to. This course is taught by PhD student Chang In Sohn with a Newhall Award, under the supervision of Braden Molhoek.
